The Reel Review

C-

If a film featuring food having sex in an expletive-filled orgy of offensive jokes and racial stereotyping sounds like your cup of tea, then Seth Rogen’s latest, no holds barred, shock fest will be right up your alley. If, however, you have emotional maturity greater than that of a 13-year-old boy, you will be sorely disappointed and probably even a bit disgusted. The story, about grocery store products discovering the grim realization about their post-purchase fate into “the great beyond,” does have some redeeming thought-provoking religious symbolism and features some funny voice work by Kristen Wiig, James Franco and Salma Hayek. It’s just that the story itself feels like it was written by a bunch of adolescent stoners who think their jokes are way funnier than they truly are.
