The Reel Review
When an explorer (Hugh Jackman) discovers an eight-foot-tall Sasquatch (Zach Galifianakis) in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the Bigfoot begs him to free him from his lonely life of solitude and take him to the Himalayas to find his cousins, the Yeti. So off they go, joined by the widow (Zoe Saldana) of another former explorer.
The uninspired story from writer/director Chris Butler (ParaNorman) is filled with flat, corny one-liners; bland, unrelatable characters; and phoned-in voice-over work from his cast. The only saving grace – somewhat interesting animation and a handful of ironic, funny one-liners from Emma Thompson as The Elder. This is one of the most painfully boring animated films in years.
