The Reel Review
This reboot of the classic Chevy Chase family road trip comedy has Ed Helms as the grown-up son trying to re-capture the magic of his dysfunctional childhood family vacation. If you keep expectations low and ignore the formulaic story, Helms’ lack of charisma and some really corny scenes, and instead focus on Christina Applegate’s hilarious comic timing and some of the truly hysterical, wildly inappropriate scenes (the sorority house, the hot springs and Chris Hemsworth), then you will enjoy.
