The Reel Review
A routine ride on a South Korean bullet train turns into a harrowing, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride when a nationwide zombie apocalypse breaks out and spreads onto the train as it races to the port city of Busan.
While the zombies’ motor skills and infection speed vary wildly from scene to scene, and the uninfected villain could have dialed it down a bit (really? pushing teen girls in front of zombies – not cool!), director Sang-ho Yeon dazzles with never-ending action, eye-popping visual effects, well fleshed-out character development and brain-stimulating social commentary.
As zombie flicks go, this one is exceptional.
