The Reel Review
It is ironic that, just as one of the world’s greatest living minds, astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, remained trapped in a body that prevents speech and physical movement, this film about his extraordinary life is trapped in a pleasantly mundane biopic that limits and glosses over the many complexities of his marriage and achievements.
Regardless, the story itself is still a fascinating one. Eddie Redmayne is absolutely masterful in his Oscar-worthy portrayal of Hawking and Felicity Jones is also exceptional as his wife, Jane.
