The Reel Review
This crime thriller is about a group of professional criminals attempting to rob the treasury building in Gulfport, Alabama (huh?) during the largest hurricane in recorded history. Federal agent Casey (Taken‘s Maggie Grace) teams up with brothers Will (Kong: Skull Island‘s Toby Kebbell), a storm chasing meteorologist, and Breeze (True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten), a handyman, to stop the heist and save themselves from the deadly storm.
Nevermind that there is no Treasury building in Gulfport, nor is Gulfport is in Alabama, and that there never has been a hurricane stronger than 190, much less 600 miles per hour – this error-thon of a story from director Rob Cohen (The Boy Next Door, The Fast and the Furious) also features more moronic dialogue and less logic than the comedy/thriller Sharknado. At least Sharknado’s was intentional.
