The Reel Review
This is the true story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team of investigative reporters at The Boston Globe that, in 2002, broke the child sex abuse scandal and decades long coverup by the Archdiocese of Boston – a scandal that quickly snowballed into a worldwide crisis for the Catholic Church.
Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast, this is a smart, important story about the dangers of quiet complicity and the importance of good investigative journalism. The shocking revelations of the scope of the abuse and the extent of the cover up within the church more than make up for a story that does, at times, lag a wee bit. Still, one of the year’s best.
