Everything about this taut thriller is on point – an intense, gritty story about an idealist FBI agent (Emily Blunt) fighting the Mexican drug cartels; outstanding acting across the board; and a bleak setting gripped by cutthroat brutally. While it isn’t the first movie about the failed war on drug trafficking, Sicario captures it in a way that is brutal, morally conflicting and unforgettable.
