The Reel Review
Jason Momoa (Aquaman premieres December 2018) is Joe Braven, a resident badass and family-oriented logger who finds himself in danger when he and his family discover dangerous drug traffickers have stashed illegal drugs in their remote cabin in the snow-covered Canadian wilderness. Director Lin Oeding utilizes his stuntman background (Inception, The Equalizer) to deliver a fun, mindless action/adventure thriller that is thankfully light on cheesy dialogue and heavy on inventive (and at times, eye-rollingly goofy) ways for Braven, his wife and his father to kill the bad guys. Supporting castmembers Jill Wagner (MTV’s Teen Wolf) and Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) add an element of believability to this paint-by-the-numbers story, which fits the entertainment bill pretty darn well if all you want is a modern day shoot ‘em up.
Decent action movie but seen it all before
