The Reel Review
This sequel, set 30 years after the original 1982 Ridley Scott sci-fi film, has blade runner Ryan Gosling on the hunt for the remaining band of renegade replicants, when he discovers that a predecessor (Harrison Ford) had a child with a replicant – something that could result in a global revolution if made public.
Not only are the sequel’s highly innovative visual effects of a dystopian Los Angeles Oscar worthy, but its clever story improves upon and even elevates the original film’s narrative, to the delight of original Blade Runner fans. The weak spots are a film, that at nearly three hours, is a bit long, and despite its length, leaves lots of loose ends.
