The Reel Review
Milla Jovavitch and Steve Zahn are a couple enjoying a newlywed hiking vacation on Kauai amidst reports that a male/female duo of killers may be in the area. Despite an eye-rollingly ridiculous ending, the story leading up to it is surprisingly clever, the acting really good, and the visuals of the coast of Hawaii’s Garden Isle are breathtaking. Tim Oliphant and Kiele Sanchez are great as one of the other couples on the trail and the film also marks one of Chris Hemsworth’s first big screen appearances. As long as expectations are kept low, this mind trip into paranoia is great mindless fun.
