The Reel Review
Its cute and surprisingly clever predecessor had unlikely cop buddies Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill going undercover as high school students to bust a drug ring. This sequel, however, which now has the undercover duo pretending to be college students, isn’t so much a movie as it is a series of goofy vignettes designed to showcase their bromance. There are several laugh out loud moments, and Jillian Bell steals the show as the smart-mouthed roommate of Hill’s love interest, but overall, this corny, dumbed-down film is proof that poking fun at lame sequels does not keep that sequel from being lame.
